Texas Medigap Plans
As a Texan, you’re prepared for everything. You work hard, you play hard and you’re ready to take on anything that comes your way. Health care is no different. Now that you’re 65, you are eligible for Medicare but you’re smart enough to know that it isn’t enough to pay for all your health care expenses. In fact, as the costs for medical care continue to go up every year, you have no idea how you will be able to afford to keep up.

What Types of Plans Are Available?
In Texas, there are 10 Medigap plans available. Plan D, Plan F and Plan G pay for the Medicare Part A hospital deductible and copayments; Plan K and Plan L offer reduced premiums in exchange for paying a higher percentage of medical costs and Plan A is basic, including 100% Part B coinsurance. While there is variety between the various plans, Plan F is by far the most popular because it completely eliminates all out-of-pocket expenses from deductibles, coinsurance and copayments. Plan F gives you the most peace of mind because you don’t have to worry about extra expenses.
With all Medicare supplement insurance you can choose your own doctor or specialist. However, with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas’s Medicare Select options, you can save even more money on premiums by choosing a doctor in the Medicare Select network. Medicare Select provides full coverage for emergency care at any hospital and you can still choose your own doctor or specialists.
